Eurydice Kefalidou

Eurydice Kefalidou studied History and Archaeology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a D.Phil. in Classical Archaeology from the same institution. She served at the Greek Ministry of Culture from 1993 to 2012, initially as a Curator in the Divisions of Antiquities of Macedonia and Crete, and subsequently as Head of the Department of Pottery, Paintings, and Mosaics at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. In 2013, she joined the Department of History and Archaeology in Athens.

Her research focuses on ancient Greek life and culture, with particular emphasis on the Archaic and Classical periods (7th–4th centuries BC). She has authored books and numerous articles in Greek and international archaeological journals and conference proceedings, and she is co-editor of four scholarly volumes on diverse topics in Greek archaeology. Her professional activity also includes conducting and participating in archaeological excavations and surveys in Greece, co-organizing international conferences and experimental archaeology workshops, and curating permanent and temporary museum exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
