The latest trends in health and skin care resulted in an increased demand for skin repair and rejuvenation services. The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, striving to provide high level medical education since 1837, is now offering physicians who have a scientific and clinical interest in aesthetic procedures, a unique opportunity.

Participants registered in our revolutionary e-learning program, will be able to explore the vast majority of aesthetic procedures and improve their theoretic and practical knowledge base, through a high-end, combined e-learning program. This is a novel training model, unique in Europe, the goal of its is to demonstrate the art, science, techniques and procedures of aesthetic medicine to licensed physicians, dermatologists and plastic surgeons, as well as residents in dermatology or plastic surgery, who wish to improve or refresh their skills to the latest state of the art modalities.

We provide distance education and virtual reality injection training, followed by an efficient hands-on, one-to-one, live training, in order to master all aspects of dynamic anatomy and improve aesthetic techniques. The participants are introduced, via the e-learning platform to a different topic on a weekly basis. An online tutor will also be available to assist with any queries. The participants will be practicing on models using virtual reality, requiring the use of special gloves and goggles. Following completion of the training program, there will be an on-site (Athens) full-time, hands-on one-to-one weekend training and final exam. The broad range of aesthetics covered is not limited to toxins and fillers. 
The affiliated course will cover a wide spectrum approach to all aspects of aesthetic medicine, including but not limited to: anti-aging, face and body rejuvenation techniques, laser therapies, advanced peeling techniques, body contouring and liposuction. 


Following successful completion of the training, the participants will obtain a Certificate of Continuing Medical Education by the University of Athens. The expertise acquired will lead to a more confident and well-rounded approach to aesthetics, leading to an ideal patient diagnosis and management. This new standard in medical education will promote a safe and all encompassing approach to the medical expert, thereby leading to successful outcomes, and long-term patient.

The Skin

Introduction to the mechanism of skin aging in both men and women and relating this to anatomic structures (epidermis/dermis structure, thickness, blood supply, skin nerves, phototypes, skin immunity). The session will also examine the changes of superficial and deep fat, muscle and bone during the aging process.

Medical indications for aesthetic procedures

There are a number of indications that are not primarily aesthetic, but are derived from medical problems such as acne, hyper- or hypo- pigmentation, HPV lesions, etc. These conditions require an  aesthetic-oriented approach, which may include laser treatments, chemical peeling etc.


The global skin care product market is growing at an exponential rate. With increasing patient awareness, there is increasing demand worldwide for cosmetic procedures in both men and women, with the end goal of seeking efficacious and safe skin care regiments.

Number one cosmetic procedure in the world, toxin injections, are a common treatment offered in most medical offices. Relaxing facial muscles without  necessearily removing facial expressions and emotions maintains a balance between aging and a natural rested appearaence.

Fillers / Theoretic Approach

During this month the physicians will undergo an all-encompassing approach to training. This will include a comprehensive understanding of the different filler subtypes available, as well as the subtleties in choosing  the appropriate product within each facial subunit. The participants will incorporate skin aging, bone resorption, fat loss as well as muscular changes in their complete facial assessment. This will allow for the development of a directed, organized and complete treatment regiment. 

In evaluating injectables, the participant will gain an understanfing of: 

-Different kinds of injectables (HA, Hydroxapatite, Eliance, etc)
-The choice of gauge, and lenght of Needles  and Cannulas
-Safe and efficacious injection techniques (needles and cannulas)
-The depth of the injections according to the product choice and outcome desired.

Strong knowledge of injection anatomy is mandatory in providing safe and efficacious treatments to patients.

The participants will understand the impact of  facial anatomy regarding superficial and deep injections, anatomic subunits as well as  danger zones.

Vaginal Rejuvenation

The participants will implement cutting-edge gynecology techniques targeting vaginal rejuvenation, reconstructive and aesthetic treatments of the labia and outer female genitalia. These increasingly popular treatments require continuous updates for expanding indications.

One of the key methods of addressing  moderate to severe facial laxity issues was surgical face-lifting. Thread lifts are a procedure where temporary sutures are used to produce a subtle but visible lift to the skin, providing an in-office. There are several different threads currently available as are ,techniques of placement. Indications and management of such patients with this technology will be addressed.

Chemical Peels are the most common minimal-invasive cosmetic procedures performed since the 18th century. They maintain their popularity because on optimal patient outcomes in a controlled setting with minimal patient downtime.

There are several indications including skin rejuvenation, melasma, acne, acne scars, rosacea, actinic keratosis & other precancerous lesions anti-aging, skin rejuvenation. Superficial, medium and deep chemical peels can all contribute in a different way to the skin’s wellbeing.

Peels  are regarded as simple yet efficacious procedures, but require well trained providers in order to avoid any unwanted adverse events. The training will focus on the use of peels in different patient subtypes, requiring a different preparatory and management strategies.

Body contouring treatments have gained significant popularity in the last few years. Office based body contouring modalities are numerous and establishing the right diagnosis with the appropriate treatment modality is paramount in achieving optimal results.

VR on Injection Techniques 




Assessments will be performed through competency based exercises in each Unit. These will consist of several types including open ended as well as multiple choice  questions. The validation procedure will demonstrate the candidate’s  continuous progress throughout the duration of the program.

After completing their on line segment of the program, participants will undergo a full-time, hands-on, one-to-one training weekend and final exam session in Athens.

Successful completion of the program leads to a University acknowledged Certificate of Continuing Medical Education.


Online and distance training learning at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, offers a new way of combining innovative learning strategies and training techniques with interactive tutors as well as  fellow trainees from around the world. Please note that the maximum number of participants per program cycle cannot exceed 30 individuals.

Important Information: The participants may complete  the weekly  theory segment on their own time. The live streaming or video presentation attendance and the participation in the hands-on workshop are mandatory without which the participants will not be permitted to sit for the exam or receive a certificate of attendance. Furthermore, there are no registration fee returns in such instances.

When will I receive the Certificate?

The Certificate will be sent to you electronically within 30 days following successful completion of all segments and examination. Financial obligations must be fullfilled as a prerequisite for certificate receipt. A hard copy of the Certificate will be sent to you through traditional courier services.
