A Greek language learning course specifically addressed to non Greek speakers. It is suitable for anyone who is interested in learning the Greek language and it comes with no requirements or criteria in order to attend it. After completing this online course, the attendant will have developed the language skills necessary for basic activities and situations that they might encounter, such as introducing yourself, interpersonal communication and directions for orientation.

Please mind that this course is provided for free to anyone who enrolls to one of the Cultural courses and upon successful completion you will receive a certificate of attendance.

The programme is open to anyone! Without  requirements or criteria.

The attendance of the ten-week programme will enable the students to learn the Greek language and develop the language skills necessary for basic activities and situations that they might encounter (interpersonal and telephone communication, commercial transactions, communication with a doctor and other basic human activities) and leads to a Certificate of Attendance.

The structure of the programme 'Learning the Greek Language for Non-Greek speakers' is as follows:

Lesson 1: Introduction to the Basics of Greek Language

Lesson 2: Introducing myself

Lesson 3: Interpersonal Communication

Lesson 4: Commercial Transactions

Lesson 5: Communication in place, space and time

Lesson 6: Telephone Communication

Lesson 7: Directions for orientation

Lesson 8: Communication with a doctor

Lesson 9: Farewell

Lesson 10: Revision and Assessment (Test in Comprehension questions of daily communication)

Assessment for this course is considered the final lesson which combines revision of the material provided in the programme as well as a test in comprehension questions of daily communication.

The computer based nature of training means new technology is being introduced all the time to help students engage and learn in a tailored way that will meet their needs. Each e-classroom is similar to a traditional teaching classroom. Students have access to e-classrooms with their personal code number in order to browse  the teaching material, to being informed about the latest news/updates and interact with their instructors. Moreover, through own personal e-mail account through which they can contact directly their mentors or the administration office of the programme and share any concerns or anxieties related to the programme and make the most form their experience.

During the programme students will be attending lectures and group seminars presented by academics and speakers from the National University of Athens as well as from other Universities, Research Institutes and Cultural organizations around Greece. In addition, when you study with us, you have online access to first-class resources relevant to your programme – plus you can browse material in other subject areas.

Every week e-learners are provided with the relevant material , either  video-lectures or  typed notes and relevant resources or a combination of both.
