Cooperation between the University of Athens E-Learning and the Secretariat General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy

Kicking off cooperation between the University of Athens E-Learning and the Secretariat General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy aimed at increasing awareness of the former’s E-Learning programmes (Greek Civilization and Language).
A meeting took place back in March 2023 among members of the University of Athens E-Learning and the Office of Secretary General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy / MFA, Dr. John Chrysoulakis – upon his consent and engagement. Agreed initiatives include:
- The Secretariat General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy undertook the task to promote worldwide the University of Athens E-Learning programmes, thus engaging accordingly and to that end – primarily through their social media networks – Greece’s Diplomatic and Consular Authorities abroad as well as the Hellenic Diaspora.
- Broadly, in keeping with the pace of Public Diplomacy, the Secretariat General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy will continue offering its valuable support for the international promotion of Greek Language and Civilization.
The ultimate goal is to further promote Hellenism and Hellenic Civilization all over the world and offer an in depth understanding of Greece’s history and culture, through, inter alia, the University of Athens E-Learning courses covering Ancient / Modern Greek Language, Mediterranean Nutrition, Philosophy etc.
Since its inception, the E-Learning Program has trained and awarded certificates to over 150,000 students and professionals, with 490 programs in Greek and 47 in English covering a wide range of educational directions. The programs in English can be found at: https://elearninguoa.org/
